Mary Magdalene JC’s wife!

I used to think of Mary Magdalene as MARY MAG FAG HAG.But I might be wrong! It was later misogynists that suggested she was a prostitute.

Mary Magdalene was a prominent disciple of JC and possibly his financial backer. It is unlikely she was a reformed prostitute. She led the group of women who followed Jesus, and was first witness to the Resurrection. She is called ‘Apostle to the Apostles’, since the risen Jesus told her to ‘go and tell’

Mary means ‘wise woman/lady’. It is a Greek form of the Hebrew Miriam or Mariamme, and was the most popular woman’s name at the time

From the Gospel of Mary there is this exchange showing the lads misogyny.

Mary is then confronted by Andrew and Peter, who do not take for granted what she says, because she is a woman:

“Did he then speak secretly with a woman, in preference to us, and not openly? Are we to turn back and all listen to her? Did he prefer her to us?”

A newly discovered ancient papyrus suggests that JC and Mary Magdalene were man and wife and that she was Mrs Christ.  It says so in the Daily Mail.

Here is a photo of a last Supper tableau that I took in a museum in Mexico. MARY MAGDALENE is on the right of JC. It does look like a jolly  and colourful gathering.
